Awards and Accolades
Impact Innovation Award
SmartSkin Technologies received the Impact Innovation Award at the InnovateNB Award Ceremony, New Brunswick’s annual celebration of the innovators shaping the province’s technology and innovation ecosystem.
InnovateNB brings together people and organizations driving progress across New Brunswick, highlighting groundbreaking achievements, showcasing local talent, and inspiring the next generation of innovators. Founded by leaders from the province’s innovation community, including TechImpact, NBIF, the McKenna Institute (UNB), Propel, and regional economic development partners across Saint John, Fredericton, and Moncton, the initiative has become a platform for recognizing ideas and teams making a real difference.
Top Foodtech Leaders by the Canadian Food Innovation Network
SmartSkin Technologies was named one of Canada’s 10 Established Foodtech Leaders in the inaugural Foodtech Frontier 25, presented by the Canadian Food Innovation Network (CFIN).
The Foodtech Frontier 25 recognizes the most innovative and impactful food technology companies across the country. Selected from dozens of applicants spanning all ten provinces, SmartSkin was recognized for advancing digital container twins and real-time analytics that help food and beverage manufacturers better manage line performance: reducing breakage, preventing downtime, and supporting the goal of zero-defect production.
Commendation at Women in Packaging Excellence Awards
We were proud to see Roua Razak, Director of Technical Services & Customer Success at SmartSkin, commended for the Packaging Operations Excellence Award at this year’s Women in Packaging Excellence Awards in the United Kingdom.
The awards celebrate the women shaping the future of the packaging industry, recognizing leadership, innovation, and lasting impact. Held earlier this year, the ceremony brought together industry leaders and advocates to share stories that reflect the progress and possibilities within the UK’s manufacturing and packaging landscape.

Insights Forum 6.0
Insights Forum 6.0 brought together pharmaceutical leaders, including SCHOTT and Sanofi, to discuss how fill-finish operations are evolving to address line loss, glass defects, and yield challenges. The session highlighted how real-time data is being used to improve performance and decision-making on the manufacturing floor.
The discussion also explored how SmartSkin’s patented technology supports alignment across MS&T, Quality Assurance, Engineering, and Operations by providing a unified view of performance data and clear, actionable insights that enable faster, more collaborative responses to deviations.
Rethinking Container Closure Integrity & Sealing Validation in Pharma Packaging
With increasing regulatory scrutiny and more complex packaging systems, pharmaceutical manufacturers are rethinking how container closure integrity and sealing validation are managed.
This webinar featured experts from Genesis, Lighthouse, and SmartSkin sharing practical perspectives on improving CCI, optimizing residual seal force, and strengthening validation processes. Through presentations and a panel discussion, attendees gained insight into how inline analytics and cross-functional collaboration can help address gaps in process monitoring, quality assurance, and risk mitigation—supporting more robust and compliant packaging operations.

PDA Regulatory Conference
SmartSkin returned to Washington, DC for the PDA Regulatory Conference, a trusted forum for open dialogue between regulators and pharmaceutical professionals. The 2025 program focused on CGMP excellence across the product lifecycle, highlighting quality systems, risk management, industrial modernization, and sustainable compliance, supported by strong U.S. FDA participation and real-world case studies.

At drinktec in Munich, SmartSkin connected with global leaders from the beverage and liquid food industry to explore the future of filling and packaging technologies. During a presentation at the Liquidrome Arena, SmartSkin shared how container-level intelligence is helping beverage producers identify the sources of waste, downtime, and damage, while improving collaboration across maintenance, quality, and operations teams.
ISPE Annual Meeting
At the ISPE Annual Meeting & Expo, SmartSkin engaged with industry peers around the evolving impact of Pharma 4.0, including digitalization, automation, and advanced analytics. Discussions focused on how manufacturers can apply data-driven insights across development, manufacturing, and regulatory processes to improve efficiency while maintaining consistent quality.
PDA Universe of Pre-Filled Syringes and Injection Devices
SmartSkin participated in the PDA Universe of Pre-Filled Syringes and Injection Devices Conference in Vienna as a Silver Sponsor. Throughout the event, the team connected with attendees to discuss how real-time data supports faster root-cause investigations, improved yields, and stronger product integrity, complemented by a technical presentation focused on advancing sustainability and performance in syringe manufacturing.
ISPE Pharma 4.0
At ISPE Pharma 4.0, SmartSkin showcased live demonstrations of Seal Assurance, highlighting how proactive monitoring and real-time diagnostics can help detect seal integrity risks early and strengthen inspection readiness. The conference also provided opportunities to connect with peers through an evening networking reception, reinforcing the importance of collaboration and shared learning in advancing pharmaceutical manufacturing.
PDA Puerto Rico Chapter
SmartSkin joined regulators, manufacturers, and quality leaders at the PDA Puerto Rico Chapter event, From Risk to Resilience: A Holistic Approach to Drug Shortage Prevention. The discussions focused on understanding the root causes of drug shortages and exploring strategies to strengthen supply chain resilience through improved risk management, quality oversight, and cross-functional collaboration.
