Welcoming Austin Caudle: Driving Innovation and Quality in Pharmaceutical Manufacturing
SmartSkin Technologies is thrilled to welcome Austin Caudle as our new Vice President of Business Development – Pharmaceutical. Austin joins us at a pivotal time in our company’s growth, bringing with him over two decades of experience in life sciences and a deep-rooted passion for advancing quality and innovation in pharmaceutical manufacturing.
From high-growth startups to global regulatory intelligence leaders, Austin has consistently built bridges between cutting-edge technology and the life sciences community. His track record speaks for itself: leadership roles at companies like Redica Systems, Project Farma, IQVIA, and Metabolon have allowed him to shape business strategies that elevate compliance, optimize processes, and most importantly, deliver better outcomes for patients.
In his most recent role at Redica Systems, Austin led enterprise development efforts, helping establish the company as a leader in Quality and Regulatory Intelligence (QRI). There, he collaborated with multidisciplinary stakeholders across the GxP ecosystem to build robust, data-driven frameworks for risk management, compliance, and operational excellence. His ability to foster relationships with Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs), regulatory bodies, and innovators alike made him a powerful connector in a complex landscape.
What makes Austin’s perspective especially valuable is his hybrid lens: he’s not only a business development executive, he’s a recognized thought leader in pharmaceutical quality. As a member of the Regulatory and Quality Advisory Board (RAQAB) for the Parenteral Drug Association (PDA), and Immediate Past President of the PDA Southeast Chapter, Austin is actively contributing to the evolution of standards around data integrity, quality maturity, and regulatory science.

His arrival also underscores SmartSkin’s continued investment in the pharmaceutical space. Our platform has already proven essential in sterile fill-finish lines and aseptic production environments, where precision and safety are paramount. Austin’s experience with software-as-a-service (SaaS), strategic growth, and high-impact relationships positions him to amplify the value SmartSkin delivers to both existing customers and new markets.
