A plant was looking to take on a lightweighting project and opt for lighter cans on their line while maintaining the same line machine centers & conveyors. They were advised that with the current line age & status, it will not be possible to switch to the lighter cans. Additionally, they were advised to replace a palletizer which would have cost them another $1 million approximately.
